Travel throught Sri Lanka by car

Why by a car?

the answer is simple - why not?

Each of us going on vacation, regardless of the place, wonders how it will move. They may be local means of transport or, for shorter distances, eg a scooter. It all depends on what you sometimes have. The length of our holidays affects our choice many times. I have used myself several times in Asia
from local means of transport, but planning our first trip together with friends
we chose a car with a driver for Sri Lanka. You will think - rich and comfortable people ... nothing more wrong. We read a little about this country and took advantage of the experience of others. It is a convenient and safe form of traveling around the island.

Why is it better to rent a car with a driver?

The car ensures independence … but the fact that a Pole conducting it in Sri Lanka can make it a bit difficult. Ask why? The answer is simple.

Left side traffic
For someone living on the island, driving a car is a pleasure and a rather relaxing experience. I can give this assessment after Leo's observation at the wheel, unfortunately I do not have a driving license so it's hard to talk about my own experience ... but thanks to my ``deficiencies`` you can feel even safer in Sri Lanka
International driving license
It is necessary to have an international driving license, on the basis of which an additional license is created. The most important question is whether you have any experience how to drive in Asia. You can get the impression that
that there is communication chaos in this region of the world.
Speeding buses
Big danger on the roads are speeding, racing between each other buses. You have to pay special attention to them, because drivers organize rallies on routes, and overtaking a competitor on the road results in more passengers. The horn is a basic driver's work tool.
Condition of roads
The condition of the roads on the island is really good, and Colombo from Galle is connected by a highway that allows you to quickly move from one end of the island to the other. It is a lobe. However, this journey along ordinary roads allows you to get to know the real Sri Lankan.
Independence
Driving a car at any time you can stop when you have a view, you can buy fruit from roadside sellers or eat a flask of freshly cooked corn torn off in the field next to it.
Calm
What I described in the previous points proves that the car is a great means of transport, I know what I'm saying because I spent my first day on Sri Lankan roads driving
with closed eyes and a prayer on the lips. Later it was getting better, and now I enjoy the ride admiring the views passed by the window.
