POLONNARUWA – SIGIRIYA – DAMBULLA – KANDY – NUWARA ELIYA – ELLA – TISSAMAHARAMA – MIRISSA – BENTOTA – COLOMBO

Day 1

Polonnaruwa

- a city inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, one of the old capitals of Ceylon
  - visiting the archaeological museum
  - the temple of Lord Shiva, the ruins of the royal palace and the sacred quadrangle with Buddhist temples, stupas and statues of the Buddha, eg Gal Vihara.
Days 2 and 3

Sigiriya - Dambulla

- morning trekking to Lion's Rock with a stone fortress erected at the summit by King Kassjap,
  - safari in the Minneriya National Park - meeting with elephants
  - a trip to a Sri Lankan village,
- the alternative to see Sigiriya from a different perspective is Pidurangala Rock, twin sister of Lively Rocks
- visiting the interior of the Buddhist caves in Dambulla

Kandy

- Temple of the Tooth - the most important Buddhist building,
  - Museum of the Tooth of the Buddha and the International Museum of Buddhism
  - Royal Botanic Gardens
  - participation in the show of traditional Sri Lankan dances
  - Ramboda - waterfall
Day 5

Nuwara Eliya

- a walk among ever green tea fields and a meeting with pickers
  - visiting the tea factory
  - walk around the city with picturesque views (Gregory Lake), Victorian architecture and London weather
  - traveling by train one of the most beautiful railway routes in the world, about three hours
